Thanks Debi!!

I have been getting some compliments on my new header, and I must give credit where credit is due. The truth is, I messed with it and messed with it and couldn't get it to do what I wanted, so I did what all friends would do....I called Debi whined and moaned about it until she gave in and offered to just do it for me!! Thanks Debi...I love you!!

I even used your favorite color for you!

Soccer

Jessica had soccer practice tonight at 6. We decided to head out a little early. Scott has been working with Jessica, trying to teach her some new tricks. Here she is trying to master "The Rainbow"

She should kick the ball with her back heel and it flies over her head and land in front of her. She is almost there....well, sorta. Keep trying Jess, you'll get it!

Golfing

Today was such a nice day out today. It got up to 81 (I promise I am not rubbing this in to anyone who may have gotten snow today). I got the boys a couple golf sets last week and today was the perfect day try them out. Owen LOVED the golf set and did not want to put them down, however, Sean was much more excited about the ball.

Your score on this personality test was 49%

Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a longer time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

Calling all States

I sent out an email a couple months ago that Jessica's class was divided in groups and in competition with each other to see which group would be the first to get postcards from all 50 states!!! Thanks to everyone who sent those cards to Jessica. I spoke to Jess' teacher today and she informed me that Jess' group was the first to get all 50!! However, Jess says her group has not gotten Rhode Island. I am going to have her check on that tomorrow. I took pictures of all the cards today while I was at her school.
After showing Jess the pictures, she realized that there is a red thumb tack in RI, which indicates that her team, did indeed, get RI!! That means they get to have a pizza party!!
Thanks again!

Jessica's "State Fair"

As you may know, Jessica has been working on her state project for school for sometime now (9 weeks to be exact). Well, the final project was due to day!! Parents and other classes at the school were invited to see the "State Fair" Jessica's state was New Mexico, and I must admit when she came home and said that her state was New Mexico, my first thougth was "what the heck is in NM. This is going to be a tough, but boring state (sorry Tab). After all the reading and researching we did on the state, I have to admit, I might like to visit there some day.
Jessica and her project
The salsa made with Green chillies tht are found in New Mexico
Jessica "teaching" the 4th graders about her state.
We are now just waiting for our grade!! As hard as we all worked on this project, she should get an "A"

Our Easter Weekend

Wow..what a weekend. Easter really snuck up on us this year. With Scott's birthday & my birthday, Easter was here before we knew it. So, needless to say, this is the first year in 17 years of parenting, I did not take my kids to see the Easter Bunny. I think they will live. I am sure Sena and Owen would prefer it this way anyway!! They HATED Santa Clause. Anyway, Friday afternoon we did a little Easter egg hunt in the front yard. The kids had a blast!!

You can see Chris in the back ground not wanting to join in on the Easter egg fun!! He thinks he is too old!! Please...you will never be too old to hunt for Easter Eggs!!

Once inside, all of the kids had a blast jumping on Chris...

The Easter Bunny hides clues here, However, Chris and Jess were not here Easter morning, so the Bunny only did it for Delaney this year...Here are her first and third clues!

and after 5 clues, look where that silly bunny left her Easter basket!!
In the Bath tub!! At least it was clean!
Delaney and the boys loved their baskets

We went to my mom's house Sunday for lunch. My sister, Karen, and her husband, David, were there!! My mom got the boys a wagon with sand toys in it.
They thought it was great for pulling each other around the house
Sean also got his BB Brackets done this weekend(Debi, that means Basketball Brackets for the NCAA tournamet)
Owen helped him, but I say they cheated since the first round was already over when they did them!!

Adding this picture of Chris just because we don't get to see much of Chris on here!
Love ya Bubba!!

And my favorite Picture of the weekend...

Hope you all had a Happy Easter as well!!

These are the Days!!

Ok..I am naming this post in honor of our good friends Mike and Julie Armstrong. About a year ago Mike and Julie came to us with the awesome news that they were going to adopt from Ethiopia. I can not begin to tell you how excited I was (and still am) for them. Mike and Julie are wonderful parents to their 4 children, Catie, Abbie, Drew, and Sammi. They have had their paperwork done for quite some time now and have just been playing the waiting game for their refferal from the agency. I spoke to Julie on the phone this morning and God has spoken!! Mike and Julie recieved their refferal this week!! They have seen pictures and video of their new son and they could not be happier that God has choosen their family to raise HIS son!! This was pulled off of Julies blog, but since it is a private blog, I don't want to give too much out:

"Today, we accepted the referral of a little boy named Tinsaye (say the "aye" with a long /i/ sound like "Tins-eye"). His name means "Resurrection." Here we are, a week before Easter, and the name of the child God promised us almost exactly a year ago, is "Resurrection." Wow." ~~Julie Armstrong

I have read that more times than I can count and each time it has brought tears to my eyes!! Julie's best guess is that her new son will be home with her by August! I love you, Mike and Julie, Good luck with everything!! God Bless!

School Pictures

Ok..So I look through Jessica's folder. And to what do my wondering eyes appear? "Your child's school portraits". What? I don't remember approving an outfit for school pictures. I pull out the pictures and this is what I found....
(not great, but I took a picture of a picture)
What, do you ask, is on her jacket? Well, you see, that is not even HER jacket. It is Scott's Soccer warm up suit from middle school. And yes, it does say "O'Laughlin" on it. The kicker? Well, as most of you know, O'Laughlin is not even her last name!! So of course, I did not buy any (do you think her dad wants to buy them lol)!! Which is fine because the darn things are so fricken expensive anyway!!

Happy Birthday Me!!

We spent my Birthday pretty low key today. Delaney, the boys and I had a play date this morning. I say I had a play date because we all know that play dates aren't REALLY for the kids as much as they are for the mommies to have adult conversation. We went over to our friend Mallory and Jake's (and their mommy, Kelly). I have know Kelly for a few years now and Mallory and Delaney are in the same preschool class. Jake is 11 months old. Katherine and Sam (and their mommy, Kim) were there. Katherine is also in Delaney's preschool class and Sam is 13 months old. It was nice for everyone. The girls all played dress up and the boys all slobbered on all of the toys and toddled around. Sorry...no pictures...I forgot to take my camera.

Jess and Scott had soccer practice this afternoon, so we just did McDonald's for dinner. Romantic, huh? The best part...Scott ate in the car on the way home so he could quickly change and leave for soccer. I ate with Delaney and the boys!!

However, after soccer, Scott surprised me with very pretty flowers, cake and cards. In the cards? $$ and the promise to take me clothes shopping!! I can't wait!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day/Happy Birthday Scott!! (a day late)

"May the road rise to meet you,
may the wind be always at your back;
may the sun shine warm upon your face ,
and the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And untill we meet again may God hold you in the hollow of his hand"
~Irish Blessing~

Delaney, Sean and Owen in their St. Patrick's Day attire!!
Sean and Owen's say "IRISH" Delaney's Says "Daddy Lady Luck"

Then after bath, it was into our St. Patrick's PJ's!! Sean and Owen's say "Mom's lucky Charm"
Delaney's says "Lucky in Love"

March 17th is also Scott's Birthday. Yes, I have my very own "ST. Patrick" born on St. Patrick's day!! First, I must give you the story. Scott's birth name is Scott Thomas. His confirmation name is Patrick. So if you take the "S" from Scott and the "T" from Thomas, you have ST Patrick O'Laughlin!! Born on ST. Patrick's day!! Yes, I know cheesy, but his family is VERY proud of it...as any Irish family would be!!

Jess and Delaney putting candles on the cake...

Holy Smokes....

Carvel Icecream Cake...The Best!! yummy

I must also add these pictures....

"Their Pimp Outfits"

Scott's parent's got these suits for the boys for Christmas. However, I promised Linda that I would make sure everyone knew that she had nothing to do with picking these out!! It was all Tom!!

May those who love us, love us
And those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts
And if He will not turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping!
~ Irish Saying~
