Down the Aisles
1. Where did you meet your husband?
We had a mutual friend. Matt, that introduced us. I worked with him and Scott lived next him.
2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
Ha..This is a funny one. 3 of my friends and I were meeting Matt and some of his friends to go out for the evening. Once we got to the apartment building I called Matt to find out which apartment was his. Scott answered the phone "Talk to me". To which I replied, "AH..can I speak to Matt?" I heard him in the back ground say "Hey Matt, I think it's your mom"...Nice start, huh?
3. Where was your first date?
Man...I suck... I don't remember!! I am sure it was dinner at Outback or Chili's or something like that. I'll call Scott....Whew...He doesn't remember either!! But if you remember from this post, you will recall that things didn't go so well for us in the beginning!
4. Where was your first kiss?
On the dance floor at "The Wharehouse", a dance club in Raleigh. (no longer there)
5. Did you have a long or short engagement/courtship?
We dated for a year living a hour away from each other. Then we moved in together. We lived in sin for a year before he proposed to me, then a year engagement before the wedding!
6. Where did you get engaged?
Walking along the edge of a lake. There is actually a lot more to the engagement story but that is a blog post of its own. (This was Michele's answer, but mine is the exact same. In fact, I did blog about it here.)
7. Where did you get married?
We were married at a Bed and Breakfast called The Preston Woodall House. It was absolutely perfect. Our reception, get this, was at Rum Runners, a dueling piano bar! The bar is divided into two different sections. We had the back part private all night and the piano bar was private until 10pm! We had our own private show for 3 hours!
8. Any disasters during the special day?
You know, I can't think of any!
9. Most special moment of your wedding day?
I came into our relationship with two children. Scott and his family have always treated them like their own family! We had a family medallion ceremony in our wedding where Scott presented Chris and Jessica with a Family Medallion necklace.
10. The song from your first dance?
Well, like I said, our reception was at a dueling piano bar, so I am sure it was something inappropriate!
11. If you were to do your wedding over, what would you change?
NOTHING!!

July 2002
My first one is of Chris holding the catch of the day. We stayed in Ocean City, Maryland for a week with Scott's parents, his sister and her family! He was able to go crabbing off of our back deck. Chris was just about to turn 12! My, where has the time gone. Chris, do your mama a favor and slow down a bit!! Chris will be 18 this July!

Hail Storm 5/20/2008
We checked for damage after the storm. I had a few minor dings on my van and the back brake light cover was cracked. Scott's car has dings all over it. Thank goodness it is a company car!!
I also took a short video of the hail falling. This was at the end of the storm and the hail was coming in smaller pieces!

Stepping Outside your Box!!
This past week, our friend and neighbor, Dan invited Scott to go to the NASCAR race in Charlotte, NC. Scott accepted the invitation, and was quite excited about it actually.
My first comment to him was to make sure his seats were not in "chicken bone alley!" The poor boy had no idea what I was talking about and I could not convince him that there was such a thing. Until Dan confirmed for me!!
All week Scott's plans were to just get up, grab an extra shirt and go!! Until Friday afternoon when he talked to Dan. He came in the house saying "I need to take snacks, we can take in our own cooler. Dan is taking grill and burgers. I didn't know it was going to be like this" All I could do was laugh!! Scott was SSOO unprepared!!
Scott watches ESPN on a regular basis, so he sees enough NASCAR updates to sort of know what is going on. Enough that he 'has a guy' so to speak. He decided a few years ago that he was a Tony Stewart fan!!
Friday night, after all the kids were in bed, Scott heads to Wal-Mart to pick up the need snacks he would need for the race. And guess what else he comes home with? A hat! Not just any old hat, a Tony Steward hat!! NOW he is ready!! Nope, not yet!! Scott spent the next 2 hours, I kid you not, trying to find a shirt that would match the hat! Too funny!!
Anyway, Scott left Saturday morning to head to his first NASCAR race, and like any other first, I had to take pictures. Here is Scott taking his things next door!
Here is a picture Scott took with his phone and emailed to me!! I have talked to him on the phone, he sounds to be having a great time!
Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NCI must add that this is somthing I miss. My dad used to go to the race in Rockingham, NC twice a year. I always loved going with him. However, they don't have any races there anymore.

Poodle Skirt? What?
As soon as we got home, we began to work...And I realized that I needed to turn this.....
Did I mention that I don't sew? In case I didn't, I will say it now...I.DON'T.SEW!! It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to thread the damn machine! Thank goodness I saved the box and the instruction book or I would be screwed!! Any way I worked away for a few hours, got most of the sewing done...
Ok..They are not completely done in this picture, but you will have to wait for the finished project for when I post pictures of the dance...Which was tonight by the way!!

Soccer Awards
The team parents got together and gave Scott and the assistant Coach, Malcolm an awesome gift. Scott got a nice shirt which has 'coach' on it, a gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods, and a soccer magnet which all of the girls signed. Thanks, that really meant a lot to Scott. He could not believe how nice you all were to him last night! He was really touched by your generosity.
Scott also got Malcolm a picture frame that had a team picture which was singed by all of the girls. Unfortunately, Malcolm was unable to make it to the dinner due to a death in the family! Malcolm, we are praying for you and your family.
I also want to say thank you to Julia and her mom for bringing a cake. It was delicious!!
