A great day for Soccer!

So, today was soccer day again. Jessica's team played against the only team that has beaten them this season. The first loss happened during a freezing cold rain storm and Jessica's team gave up two goals in the last couple of miutes to lose 2-1. This time it was a better result and Jessica's team won 2-0. Jessica scored the first goal and played goalie the entire second half, which was tough because the other team was going downhill and had the wind in the second half. She did a great job in goal though and even saved a penalty shot right before the game ended to preserve the shutout, their third of the season. She has three goals this year and hasn't let in a goal yet. As the coach, Scott was really proud of the effort the team gave. He said they really played hard the entire game and did a lot of things they had worked on in practice. We have a couple of tough games left but so far so good! This was the first goal of the game made by Jessica. (gray shirt #4) Mackenzie (#11) had a great assist to her. Mackenzie is our top scorer!
This is Jessica saving the penalty shot. I feel I should point out that on a penalty shot it is just the kicker and the goalie. The goalie can not move off of her mark until the kicker has made contact with the ball. Jess' former coach was there to watch the game and had just made the comment "these kicks are near impossible to save"!! We are very proud of our Jess'!!
