While Terri was away...

I hijacked Terri's Blog just to let everyone know that while she was away, the kids were in capable hands and had a great time. I took the boys and Delaney to Chic-Fil-A for lunch and let them play in the toddler room. They all had a great time and the boys pretended they were lions, growling, as the girls ran by them. Friday night I took the kids to Chili's for dinner, hey it was better then my first choice (Hooters). I got lots of complements on how well behaved they all were. I thanked the one woman sitting next to us for her comlpement and then also for jinxing me and told her when they start throwing food it will be her fault. Fortunately it never happened. We then headed off to Kohls for Jessica to get some summer clothes. There were times when I thought I was pushing it and biting off more than I can handle but in the end we had no problems. Saturday afternoon I took the kids to a neighborhood block party where the street was blocked off and the kids all played in the street, a number of yards and driveways. I was on my best behavior and I had lots of help from the neighbors chasing Sean and Owen as they explored the many things to do. Sunday we went to the pool since it was in the upper 80s and the pool had just opened that weekend. Delaney and Jessica were begging so I said yes, I know I'm a pushover. The boys and I just dipped our toes in the cold water while the girls swam for an hour, but it was fun for everyone and we made it home safely. So let's see...Lunches and playroom fun, shopping, neighborhood block party, and the pool. All of that with no broken bones, no scraped up faces and no sun burns. Yeah, mommy won't be mad at me! I will say to all of those women that stopped to talk to me everywhere we went about how nice it was that I was handling all of them by myself, I would just like to say, "thanks, but they are my kids, what do you expect". When you are a Dad to multiples, and then some, you have to be capable otherwise Mommy is not going to make it. Why do they all think it's some sort of a shocker that I would take them shopping or to go eat? Dads aren't that inept!

Scott - my husband gets that a lot too with just the twins...I must say though, out to eat at a place like chili's is a two man job around here...I wouldn't try it by myself!

You're awesome Scott!!! Jas gets those comments when he's out alone with ours as well and he says the same thing about just because he's a male doesn't mean he is incapable!

Scott, Pete agrees. Just because you a dad does not mean you cant handle things. You post sound fabulous. Glad you enjoyed the time with the kids.
