Welcome Home Luke!

As some of you know, my Brother~in~Law, Luke (Scott's sister's husband) has spent the last 7(?) months serving in Iraq. Luke is a Navigator for the US NAVY (think Goose from Top Gun). While serving our Country, Luke left behind a wife, Erin, ID twin girls Hannah and Grace (9), and Liam (8). Luke found out 2 days before he left that Erin was pregnant with #4 (which we found out later is another girl), due to be born in July.

Monday we received a text message from Erin that said "Luke is home, tan and skinny"! We were very excited.

Let me tell you a little about what Erin went through while Luke was gone.

To begin with, she is in Maine, away from any family (her parents are in OH and his parents are in PA). The kids are in school, plus extra activities (Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Soccer, Softball, baseball, Confirmation classes, and the list goes on and on). Erin was also working part time. This past winter was a record breaker for snow in Maine. Over 25ft this year! Holy Crap! And boy are there some funny stories there, but that is another post! Erin had to find someone to scrape their drive way, pick up their trash (I did not realize that there were areas that the town does not supply that service, am I that spoiled?).

Oh! Did I mention that while Luke was away, Erin graduated from Nursing School? Congratulations, Erin. We are very proud of you!

I want to take this time to say thank~you. Thank~you Luke for serving Our Country, Thank~you Erin, Hannah, Grace, & Liam for sacrificing your Husband/Daddy for us. You guys mean a lot to us. We love you and miss you terribly!!

This is the video to the right of my blog, but I wanted to post it here as well. Remember to say thank you to all of our service men and women!

Welcome home Luke. I'm so glad he made it home safely. I remember you telling us about Erin after he left. She did an amazing job on her own. Well done!

Welcome home Luke! You know I have a soft spot for the military & their families ;) Will has same job he does too, only for the Marines instead of the Navy. Good for Erin for doing such a great job while he was gone!
