NC State Fair

Scott and I took the three younger ones to the State Fair yesterday. Jessica went Friday with her friends, so unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of her while she was there.

Delaney really enjoyed the rides this year, although we were not surprised. She has always been one to love the roller coasters and such. Sean and Owen, NOT SO MUCH! They were not impressed with any of the rides at all, so no pictures of them riding.

Clockwise* Scott and Delaney on the safari jeep ride, Delaney and me on the safari jeep ride,

Delaney on the bumper boats

Scott and Delaney on the roller coaster, Delaney on a train with the boys watching.

The boys didn't ride any of the rides, but they did enjoy doing a couple games. They all picked up ducks and went fishing. I think the boys really liked playing in the water more than anything.

I have to say, we had a great time. I was not really sure it was going to be such a great idea, because last time I went it was so crowded that you could barely walk. I was not sure how we were going to do it with a double stroller and a 4 year old walking. It actually was not bad. We stayed in the kiddie ride section and there was never a line for anything. Plus!! Behind the information booth, there was a diaper changing station. I wish I had taken my camera in with me. I went in with all intentions of unrolling paper towels out so no-one had to touch the counter and I had the hand sanitizer all ready for after. I was pleasantly surprised! They had a stack of disposable changing pads, diapers, wipes and powder (of which I used all of my own). So kudos to the NC State Fair for making that easy!! The down side? The cost! Holy Crap!! That is all I know to say!! $7 each of Scott and I to get in. $1 for each ticket for rides and rides were 3-4 tickets each! $2 each for a game. And don't even get me started on the food!! 2 hotdogs, 2 philly cheesesteaks, an order of chicken tenders, 1 order of fries, a water and a lemonade! Any guesses on the amount? 52 freakin' dollars! Holy!! Rip off!! But with all of that said, I am glad we went! It was a great day!

oh! That looks like such a fun day! I'm glad the kids had fun rides or no rides. I am also often shocked at the prices such events charge these days. Don't they realize we would probably spend just as much if they would charge less because we'd come back a second or third time to ride rides, play games or treat ourselves to the yummy carnival food? MARKETING PEOPLE MARKETING!

I hate that they have gotten so expensive, I have found that here too.

Glad you had a great day! I love the pictures.
