Tonight our town had it's first Main Street Christmas. I was so excited to get to take the kids. Mrs. Claus was reading to the kids, there was a horse drawn sleigh tractor drawn hay ride (sorry, that's all you get in NC), live music, crafts, face painting, and the Jolly Ol' Man himself was there for all to see. It has been in the 70's the past two days so today was going to be nice too, right? WRONG! By tonight it was in the 40's and windy! BRRR The boys and Delaney got all dressed up in their new winter coats, hats and mittens. OK, so Owen would not wear his hat and mittens, but we really didn't think he would. It is going to be a long, cold winter!
First stop, Mrs. Claus read us a story
Next, inside to warm up a bit and for some crafts.
I think Delaney's favorite part of the night was the face painting!

look at that smile!
Then off to a few more crafts
a snowman
then a card
Sean colored a snowman (only after the neighbor, Bethany, took him over). But Owen? Nope, not Owen. He would not detach himself from me long enough to do ANYTHING! Wouldn't even sit in his stroller! Kid has some issues! lol
Then what we have all been waiting for...Santa Claus!
Remember the card Delaney made?
She gave it to Santa! She is too sweet!
Our Neighbor, Bethany, had a lot to tell Santa, too!
Nope, no pictures of the boys sitting in Santa's lap. There was no forcing them to sit there even long enough for us to get a picture with screaming babies. Nope, they were having none of that, BUT we did get a family shot!
Notice the grimace on Sean's face and Owen looking down at him to make sure he does not make any sudden moves!
We had to leave before the lighting of the town Christmas Tree because 2/3 of our children that were present were losing it! We hate we missed it. Maybe I will swing by there tomorrow night and get a picture and just say I was there for it!
And for those who don't believe that we tried to get Owen to wear his hat and mittens, I have this:
sorry for the red eye. I am too darn tired to fix it tonight.

On the way to town tonight (I say that like it is a long way, but really it is only like a 8 minute drive) Delaney kept noticing how big the moon was. And I will admit it was LARGE! Well, when I got home and started catching up on things that I have missed today, I saw this article. Tonight's full moon is the largest of the year. That would explain why the moon was so darn big! I didn't get any pictures while the moon was still low, but after reading the article, I went out and took a picture.

That's so funny - I didn't know about the moon, but tonight at dinner, Katie randomly opened up our sliding door in the dining room to tell us she saw the moon and Chris asked her what shape it was tonight and she did tell us it was a BIG circle :)
Love how excited girls get over getting their face painted.Katie had it done at a party last year and just thought she was a princess!
That looks like great fun!
Oh my....that Moon shot! Dang that is beautiful.
Poor Owie! He does have issues ;)
Love Miss D! She looked so darn happy! You made her night!!!!
What a great shot of the moon. Now all you need to do is throw a lasso around it :)
Great pic of the moon - I always have trouble getting a nice clear pic like that.
