Recovery, Princess Style

The first day home went much better than I expected. She wanted to sit in my bed and color. PERFECT! I can still get some things done. She is drinking her juice like she is supposed to.
Until it came time for her to take her pain medicine. It all started to go down hill! She took one taste and wouldn't have anything else to do with it and has been a fight since then to get her to take it.

We gave her a bell, so that when she needed us, she could ring the bell. She really hasn't abused that privilege, but I sure thought she would.

Over the past couple of days, Delaney has been given several 'get well' gifts, but she especially loved when someone actually came to the door and delivered her a stuffed animal from MiMi and Poppy! The thought it was the neatest thing ever for it to come straight to our front door!

For dinner, I was very shocked when she asked for pizza (that is what we were having), but since the Dr told me there are no restrictions, let her have whatever she will eat, I cut it up in to tiny, tiny pieces. She ate and entire piece!!

Friday morning she was refusing to eat, not drinking much and had a slight fever. It went away around mid-morning. However, the fever came back even higher Saturday morning. She finally started eating again Saturday night. What do you ask made her decide to eat? Not ice-cream. Not Jell-O. But a salad! What ever it takes!! lol

She seems to be doing much better. She is still sleeping this morning, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that she does not wake up with a fever. We will have to go back to the Doctor's if she does.

With all of that being said, we must remember that Delaney is not the only one on medicine here. Last week the boys went to the Dr. and they both have an ear infection.

If only Delaney would take her medicine as easy as the boys..

Glad the recovery is going well--this definitely reminded me of scenes from last fall with 4 of 8! Hope the ear infection kiddos are on the mend as well!

Blessings!
