A day at the Museum

After spending most of the weekend in the sun, Sunday we decided to go in doors. North Carolina Museum of Natural Science. We've been before. More than once. But this time, the boys were old enough to really enjoy it. I loved listening to Sean say OOHHH, every time he rounded a corner and saw something new. And loved seeing Owen's eyes light up with that silly little grin of his. Delaney. Delaney remembered most of it and only wanted to see "the dinosaur with a booboo"

The fist thing we did was go up to the 4th floor to the butterfly room. The last couple times we have been, by the time we got up there, it was closed. It is only open a few hours a day. So, we went there first! Sean was not thrilled about it, and would not let Scott put him down until we were just about ready to walk out. Delaney loved it and tried really hard to get a butterfly to land on her. No dice.

Then we worked our way down.

Honey, I shrunk the kids!

Roach, Anyone?
yuck, I know. But Sean and Owen both loved watching them.
yes, they are real! AND ALIVE!!!

Checking out the dinosaurs from above...

YES!! A group shot!!

Then from ground level!

Delaney watching the video on how the dinosaur got his booboo!
She was very Sad!

They all just noticed they were standing UNDER a dinosaur!
Too funny

Sing with me...
She's got the whole world, in her hands...

Next week I think we will try out the History Museum!

Oh I just love museums. And dinosaurs. And whales. And butterflies. Not so sure about the roaches.

Glad you had a great time. It looks like a lot of fun. Love the picture of Delaney's face while watching the dinosaur video. Pics of kids listening intently to something are so precious.

The wonder of children as they are exposed to the learning opportunities in life is refreshing to see again , again and again. WE are all reminded of our own experience when we visited the museum or the Zoo for the first time for ourselves or with our children. Thanks for the opportunity to share this with Delaney and the "boys".

The group shot was great! Delaney looks so big in these pics, wow!

My sister got the boys a butterfly house for Christmas, she sent away for the caterpillars and they raised them to be butterflies and then let them go, they LOVED it especially Caleb and his cousin who is 7 and a girl, they held them before they let them go and there is still one that has stuck around our back yard, every time Caleb sees it he says there is our butterfly Mommy, I highly recommend it!
