Hill Ridge Farms

Three years in a row now we have visited Hill Ridge Farms. I am sure we will go back next year.

The sky was a bit cloudy, so we decided to get the main things out of the way first. So we started with the train ride.

Notice how far back Jess was sitting from us. I guess that is what happens when you become a teenager. You are too cool to sit with the family!

Looking back at the farm from the train ride.

Delaney wanted to take a quick run through the tunnel

So Jess took a quick nap!

Jess and Delaney playing in the hay pile.

Then a quick hay ride to the pumpkin patch...

...and Daddy steals a kiss

Jess finds her pumpkin

Delaney has hers

...and Sean

...then Owen.

PopPop does his special tricks (the man behind him thought this was the funniest thing ever!)

Daddy is all loaded up!

..and back on the hayride for a trip back to the farm to play some more.

I must admit, this is the ONLY reason we brought the stroller.

Jess down the slide

Delaney down the slide with Sean and Poppy waiting (Sean would not go down)

Where are Daddy and Owen?

WOOHOO!! They made it!!

covering Jess in the corn pit

Only her face was left!

Delaney's turn!

another maze!

... rock mining....

Pumpkin Patch

What a busy weekend we had! Saturday was the NC State Fair and Sunday was Hill Ridge Farms! This is the same farm we went to last year, and my how things change in a year!

The first thing we did was a maze. Delaney led the way:

Then the Hill Ridge Farms 'Cool Bus

Sean liked the big tractor tire!

look at my big boy standing on it all by himself!!

We checked out the goats and chickens:

While Delaney and Daddy were in line for the slide,

The boys and I played on the playground

They traded turns catching each other on the slide

twenty minutes later, Delaney came down the slide!

Next as the train ride. And I have to say, I after the way the boys acted at the fair on Saturday, I was not sure how they were going to handle the train. They were not sure about it at first, but started to relax and enjoy it a bit.

The boys had been watching the tractor (hay ride) all day. They LOVED it, as long as we didn't get too close. Again, not sure how they would handle it, and this was more concerning since that was the only way to the pumpkins!!

Then Pumpkin Heaven!!

...and if you get tired, there are plenty of seats...

We loaded Daddy up ...
...and headed back to play some more.
And mommy and daddy had a quiet ride home!!

In case you were wondering, this is what they looked like just one short year ago....
