First day of Pre-K and already homework!

Monday was Delaney's first day of pre-k. I can't believe one more year and my baby girl will be in Kindergarten! Where does the time go? She was pretty comfortable going in, since she has been at the same school since she was 2 1/2.

On her first day, she was given a project to decorate a paperdoll to look like her. We cut up a shirt that was too small and made a dress for her doll. I made her a little necklace and Delaney drew the face, hair and no girl is complete without pink fingernails.

And the finished project...

And those first days. . .they're always such big days that remind us just how much older the kids are getting aren't they???

I didn't realize that Delaney & my Luke were about the same age (for some reason I thought she was a little older!). Luke will be 5 on 12/14, so he didn't make the b-day cutoff to start K this year. I know the feeling about not believing that next year is kindergarten, yikes! Glad she had a good first day, and she looks SO cute, btw!

I'm looking for examples of the kind of homework kids get in pre-kindergarten. Can you please send me a few examples? How often does your child get pre-kindergarten homework? What do you think of it?

Thanks.
