Cancun, Mexico~~Day 4

I know I have been slacking on the updates, but alot has been going on.

Saturday~Our last full day in Cancun. Another day spent by the pool lounging around. I also did my souvenir shopping.

We had another dinner Saturday night. It was in the ball room, but boy am I glad it was another casual dress meal!! But I learned not to come to one of these dinners hungry.

Salad

Soup

Meal

Dessert! The best part of the meal!

Sunday morning we had to have our bags packed and by the front door by 9:15, so there was not much time for us to do anything. We sat in the lobby waiting for our ride to the airport!! It was a great trip. Thanks Jenny for bringing me with you!!

Cancun, Mexico~Day 3

Tulum! Ancient Mayan Ruins!
What a site! You can read more about it here. From our resort it was about an hour and a half drive, but really worth it. The sites were amazing with the history behind them. And the water...AAHH, now that is the water I can swim in, but I didn't!!

I must say too, this is the ONLY place I have ever been where they ration out the toilet paper. Here is mine!! hehe

I think it was 8 sheets!! lol
Xel-Ha

The second part of the day was spent at Xel-ha, The largest "natural aquarium".

We did the lazy river, however, it was not too lazy!! Jenny managed to take off before me, then three couples went, and I must say, the ladies in that group were none to happy to be there!! Especially after Jenny pointed out the crabs on the river banks!! Anyway, you really had to work to get through the first part of the river. It was a long, narrow section and the river was not really flowing, so you had to kick and paddle. I was stuck behind the group of three, who were quite comical, but it was a bit frustrating. Anyway, out in the open, was a little easier, until the end when the river met the ocean water and the current was going the opposite direction, so you REALLY had to kick to get to the end!! This SHOULD NOT be called a lazy river!!

At Xel-Ha, you can also swim with the dolphins. We did not do that, but I did get some pictures of the dolphins at work. They have got to be the most beautiful animals!!

However, I did get a chance to swim with the dolphins last year. Here is a picture from last year!

The hammocks looked awesome as well, alas, we did not test those out either!

Most of the pictures of Xel-ha were taken on a disposable underwater camera that has not been developed yet. I will post those tonight when I get them back.

When we got back to the resort, we met up with Brian and Ashlee, went to dinner then to the lobby bar for the evening, where we discovered these drinks called 'The Bob Marley,' Get it?

It was named after this guy!

And of course, the trip just would not be right if Jenny didn't do a little arm wrestling!!

videos from Cancun

Just wanted to post 3 short videos from Cancun.
The first one, only a few will understand why it is so funny to me.

#2, Just listen, of course, I needed to post it!!

#3 is just obvious!!

Cancun, Mexico~~Day 2

Thursday morning we had room service for breakfast.

We spent the rest of the day "chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool" out by the pool and checking out the beaches, which I was NOT impressed with. My feet did not touch the water. There was about 2-3 feet of seaweed that you had to walk through to get to clear water. Not for me!!

These lovely animals were EVERYWHERE. More common than a bird!! lol

We had lunch at the pool side buffet. The food was surprisingly good. All of the poolside buildings were open with thatched roofs. This picture was taken from our table looking straight up. Pretty neat!!

Thursday night for dinner, we ate at Momonohana, an asian-style restaurant. I think is was the best food we ate entire trip!!
appetizer
Meal
desert
YUMM-O!!

Cancun, Mexico~~Day 1

Wednesday was an early day. Our flight left at 7:30am, so we had to leave the house by 5:00am!! Have you ever wondered how they service the planes? Well, we got to watch them put all the food, drinks, etc on board while we waited to board.

We had a two hour layover in Atlanta, but once we hit the skies from there, it was a short trip across water and we started to see the colors of the water change.

We arrived at the Moon Palace, and it is BEAUTIFUL!! Could not ask for more!

Once we got there, GMAC had a nice reception set up for everyone. That is where it began!! At the reception we ran into our friends, Brian and Ashlee, that we met in The Bahama's last year.

The bartenders were mixing up some really nice drinks!

After the short reception, it was off to find our rooms.
It is a HUGE property, that was not an easy task!!

After a lot of walking, we found our home for the next 5 days!! The Pinata building, room 1520!

And the view was awesome! Every balcony had a hammock! Every room was semi-Oceanview!

Did I mention it was all inclusive? Check out the bar in the room!!

It was getting late, and we had a welcome dinner we had to attend that night. So we decided to just take a walk around the resort and check things out. We met up with Brian and Ashlee and walked the resort. Check out some of the pictures!

After the tour of the resort, we headed back to our room to get ready for The Welcome Dinner. Upon arrival of our room, we realized that we left our balcony door open. We had a visitor while we were gone. He snacked on our food and left us a little gift.

That is right, my friends. The damn black bird flew in our window, ate the apple then shit on the floor! Just Lovely!

The Welcome Dinner

The welcome dinner was on the beach. Actually in the sand!! Something I can say I have never done before. The tables and buffet were set up in the sand, just steps from the water! Awesome!

Don't worry, I did not eat all of the desserts by myself. The four of us shared!! I promise!!
OK..That took much longer than I had hoped it would!!! Stay tuned for Day 2!!
PS..I also have video, butI can't get it to upload. I will try to add it later!
