Our trip to Ohio in 3 post

The week after New Year's we took our Christmas trip up North. I can't begin to tell you how excited I was that there was NO snow, barely even on the ground, until 5 miles from the In-Laws house (gotta love living in the "Lake effect snow area"). Even then, there wasn't much. We could still see the ground in some places...However, that didn't last long. Our first full day there, we decided to take the kids Ice Skating. Jess has been a few times, but the younger three had never been. I will say they all LOVED it.

A very pretty Jessica

Owen's got it!

Sean off on his own

I especially love this next picture because you can almost see how fast Sean's little feet were moving.

The skaters!

P.S. I have a video that I am going to try to upload later.

St. Patty's Run Green 8K

Saturday, Scott ran his first 8K (he did a 5K a few weeks ago). I was able to make it to this one and got there just before they started.

This is what it looked like from the parking garage.

Scott and Max getting ready to start the race

...and they're off...

During the race, NC Active was there to keep the kids entertained...
Delaney Hula~hooping

Kayla hula hooping (Thanks to Gloria and her daughter, Kayla, for coming keep me company).

the girls decided the only thing more silly than a man in a "skirt" is a man, in a skirt, hula hooping!

and they played around a little in the Square

Just before Scott, was a Leprechaun...

47:48 minutes (the unofficial time ~he didn't start until over 1minute after the official start.) after the start of the race, Scott crossed the finish line.

Some may wonder why would inspire Scott to run a 8K...

A free beer donated by Tir na nOg, Irish Pub.
A celebratory beer, if you will.

After the race, My Three Kilts, a local Irish Band, played for us...

They were good, but they were no Wild Geese Band (whom I miss, dearly)
Kayla and Delaney enjoyed dancing while they played

doing a little Irish Jig..

**I will update with Scott's official "chip time" as soon as it is posted.**

Bad Call!

Anyone who knows college football is most likely familiar with The Ol' Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier (formerly of UF). He is a visor wearing coach that lets you know if he doesn't like a call by throwing it on the ground (and most likely saying a few bad words). Scott is a huge supporter of Spurrier's visor throwing antics and often mimics said action while watching Gator Football. Such a huge supporter, in fact, that he taught our 2 year olds how to do it!

Long overdue, and much needed

Saturday after the kids went to bed, Scott and I had a "date night"! Well, as best as we could. Homemade Wings and a couple beers!

My husband!

I saw this Meme on Zimmer Zoo's blog and since I take every chance I can get to, as she puts it emabarass brag about my husband, I thought I would give it a go:

2. You’re out to eat. What kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Caesar
3. What is one food he doesn’t like? Any thing green..."No veggies, Please"
4. You go out to the bar. What does he order? Duh - beer! ditto
5. Where did he go to high school? Florida
6. What size shoe does he wear? I am a horrible wife...I have no idea!!
7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Any UF memorabilia

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Buffalo Chicken
9. What would the Husband eat every day if he could? Potatoes, he is Irish after all!
10. What is his favorite cereal? Anything with lots of sugar!! However, I am also guilty of this one.
11. What would he never wear? do you know that when we first met, that boy didn't own a single pair of blue jeans. I have worked on that over the past 9 years!
12. What is his favorite sports team? Pittsburgh Steelers or Florida Gators
13. Who will he vote for? Do I really need to answer that question?

14. Who is his best friend? duh...Me!! lol
