It's All About Tuesday

Our world was rocked this week! There has been a new tumor found in little Tuesday! Although she was able to spend Christmas at home with her family, on Friday, as I was complaining about having to take my Owen to the Dr for the croup, The Whitt's were taking their very fragile TuTu to have scans to discover a HUGE rapid growing tumor near her stomach. The Dr's were stumped then, but have since come up with a game plan that is much better than the last. Tuesday will have to endure more chemo with a combo of radiation. After that, she will head to NYC to see the best of the best as far as Neuroblastoma is concerned. If she needs surgery, she will have it there, then she will have an antibody treatment that has great reviews and success stories! I just KNOW that Tuesday will be one of those success stories! She is such a little fighter! Please let her family know you are praying for them!
Two more things to remind you of:
Healing Hands: Please trace your hands, and a message on them and email me for my address so I can get them sent to JK. They are needed now more than ever!!
Calendar: To benefit Tuesday and her family. $10 for every calendar sold will go to the Whitt Family. They will be heading to NYC soon. Not sure for how long, but tolls, food, gas, etc. will all be adding up for them or you can click on the donate button on the right of my blog and donate directly to them!
Most importantly PRAY, PRAY, PRAY! Jess texted me to "Pray like you've never prayed before" and you can bet that I am!!

Desperately Needed ~ Your Prayers...

For Tuesday.
It was less than a week ago that we were told Tuesday was free of cancer.
Today her family found out she has another rapidly growing tumor in her stomach. The tumor is large and the doctors are stumped. They need your prayers so that they can find the best treatment for Tuesday and her parents and her family need your prayers for restored faith and strength.
We are all devestated. We thought she was cured and instead her battle is starting over... again:(
PLEASE have faith that God will heal Tuesday and let Him know that your faith is strong.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me,bless his holy name!Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit,who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with goodso that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Psalm 103:1-5

Merry Christmas

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

~Luke 2:11-14~

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas!

Way Back When~esday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KAREN!

Today I am combining WBW with a Birthday wish to my older sister.

This is really making me wish my scanner was working. These pictures are pictures taken of pictures. They are in one of those REALLY old albums that are sticky and have the plastic cover over them to "protect" them! Sorry for the quality!

Don't forget to go over to twinfatuation to see who else is playing.

Little Dreamer's Christmas

Delaney had her little Christmas program at school on Friday! Can I just say how darn cute they were. A group of little 4 & 5 year olds came out with their reindeer hats and noses on singing Christmas songs! Enough to make a mama tear up (and yes, I did). It was also PJ day at school.

After a few songs, the class did a little project. They made snowmen out of tube socks! What a cute project!

Then a snack (This is where my yummy snowmen came into play!).

**this is my second post for the day, so make sure you scroll down to see the first one**

Knee Deep in Snowmen

No, not real ones, Silly! This is North Carolina! There is no snow here! BUT, we did make these snowmen.

Here is how it started. A couple weeks ago, we were asked by Delaney's teacher to sign up to bring a snack for The Christmas program (that post will follow this one). I had the sheet in my had ready to write my name down beside the candy canes. This was easy...I could just pick up a box and turn them into reindeer using little piping and red dots, right? Wrong. Just before I wrote my name another mom yells "I'll bring the candy canes"! AH! Your kidding me, right? Should I be hateful and put my name there anyway? Should I just suck it up and sign up for something else and let her have the stinkin' candy canes? Being the competitive on that I am, I just thought, 'forget it, I will come up with something all the kids will like more than candy canes!'
When Debi posted this, I knew exactly what I was going to do for Delaney's school! Delaney and Jess both loved making these cute little guys. So much that we made 50+!

I must say, they were a HUGE hit at school! Not just for the kids, but the parents and teachers as well!

FYI: I do like the other mom that brought the candy canes. In fact, I am pretty sure she peeps at the blog from time to time!

Christmas Parade

Saturday morning we got up and took the kids to the Christmas Parade. Our Christmas parade always amazes me. Not because it is such a wonderful parade, but because it reminds me of how much our little town is growing. When we moved here in 2000, the population was a mere 9,192. In 2006 there were 18,214 and by 2010 it is estimated to be 24,693 (facts taken from our town's website). It doubled in 6 years and expected to triple by 2010! Our "little town" isn't so little anymore! In 2000 there was one stop light, a small two lane road, one grocery store, one elementary school and a Sonic! Now? Man, lets just say we have 3 elementary school, 1 middle (building the second) and a high school and all the things that come with a growing town.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

We left the house early because last year, all the roads were closed by the time we got there and ended up having to walk a pretty good distance to get to the parade. And it is a good thing we did, because we almost didn't get a spot next to the road!It was tough in the beginning. The boys didn't understand why we were just standing around doing nothing, but once the parade started, it was all smiles. They all even clapped for some of the bands. Delaney sat on the curb the entire parade. At first, there was only room for her, but the family beside her got up half way through the parade and I made my way down with the boys.

a couple crowd pleasers were The Grinch, seen with Cindy Lou (that is her name, right?) and the fire trucks.

Delaney loved this band!
which by the way is our towns High School band that has only been together for 3 years!

These are my favorite each year. I don't know how they don't crash into each other.

FINALLY!

PS MiMi, the kids want to know if Phin has a jacket like this?

It's All About Tuesday~part 2

SCANS ARE ALL CLEAN!!!! Praise God! All of your prayers have worked! Don't stop now, though. Tuesday goes back in on the 27th to start her stem cell transplant and radiation! Remember me saying in two weeks she will have 22 procedures done! Prayers are still needed. However, I know that our little Super Tuesday will beat this! She is a fighter and she will come out on top! Let her parents know you are praying! And remember there are several other ways to help the family. The calendar is still for sale. Debi has hers already and she said it is more beautiful in person that she could have imagined! Also, there is still a button on the right of my blog to donate directly to the family!

I would also like to take this time to ask for prayers for my friend and neighbor, Dan. Dan has been featured in my blog on more than one occasion. He found out yesterday that there is a possibilities he has diabetes. He is in the hospital now. When he went in yesterday, his blood sugar level was at 505. I will update when I have more info, but please keep him and his family in your prayers.

All About Tuesday, a day early

I know I am posting this a day early, but there is a reason. A very good reason! Go to this blog. For every comment left on this post, she is donating a dollar to the Whitt Family! Last time I checked she was up to $71! Doesn't get much easier than that! Go! NOW! Post a comment! You don't have much time. It is over in the morning at 12:01am pacific time! Hurry! Go! I am not sure if this family even knows the Whitt family, but isn't that awesome? She and her husband are forgoing their Christmas gift so donate to this family.

UN~official update! I just checked Leah's blog. She was going to stop counting comments at 12:01 Pacific time, so even though she has 153 comments, 10 of them were after said time! However, that is $143 for JK and her Family! Thank you Leah so much for doing this! Thanks for reminding us all what the meaning of Christmas is! You and your husband are wonderful people! God Bless!

Main Street Christmas

Tonight our town had it's first Main Street Christmas. I was so excited to get to take the kids. Mrs. Claus was reading to the kids, there was a horse drawn sleigh tractor drawn hay ride (sorry, that's all you get in NC), live music, crafts, face painting, and the Jolly Ol' Man himself was there for all to see. It has been in the 70's the past two days so today was going to be nice too, right? WRONG! By tonight it was in the 40's and windy! BRRR The boys and Delaney got all dressed up in their new winter coats, hats and mittens. OK, so Owen would not wear his hat and mittens, but we really didn't think he would. It is going to be a long, cold winter!

First stop, Mrs. Claus read us a story

Next, inside to warm up a bit and for some crafts.
I think Delaney's favorite part of the night was the face painting!

look at that smile!
Then off to a few more crafts
a snowman
then a card

Sean colored a snowman (only after the neighbor, Bethany, took him over). But Owen? Nope, not Owen. He would not detach himself from me long enough to do ANYTHING! Wouldn't even sit in his stroller! Kid has some issues! lol

Then what we have all been waiting for...Santa Claus!
Remember the card Delaney made?
She gave it to Santa! She is too sweet!

Our Neighbor, Bethany, had a lot to tell Santa, too!

Nope, no pictures of the boys sitting in Santa's lap. There was no forcing them to sit there even long enough for us to get a picture with screaming babies. Nope, they were having none of that, BUT we did get a family shot!

Notice the grimace on Sean's face and Owen looking down at him to make sure he does not make any sudden moves!

We had to leave before the lighting of the town Christmas Tree because 2/3 of our children that were present were losing it! We hate we missed it. Maybe I will swing by there tomorrow night and get a picture and just say I was there for it!

And for those who don't believe that we tried to get Owen to wear his hat and mittens, I have this:

sorry for the red eye. I am too darn tired to fix it tonight.

*****************************************************************************

On the way to town tonight (I say that like it is a long way, but really it is only like a 8 minute drive) Delaney kept noticing how big the moon was. And I will admit it was LARGE! Well, when I got home and started catching up on things that I have missed today, I saw this article. Tonight's full moon is the largest of the year. That would explain why the moon was so darn big! I didn't get any pictures while the moon was still low, but after reading the article, I went out and took a picture.
