It's time to say goodbye!

.......to our cribs and Hello to big boy beds! I know...crazy! Sean has been crawling out of his bed every night for the past few weeks now to turn on the light then into Owen's bed. I was getting scared that he was going to really get hurt, so it was time to make the switch. I totally had plans on keeping them in their cribs until they left for college, but I guess they had other plans.

Sean helping Daddy take it apart

"Am I doing it right, Daddy?"

Owen helping Daddy

We thought the boys were going to do really well with their beds..

Night 1 didn't go so well :
They only cried for a few minutes then it got quiet. When I headed to bed, their light was on. I could barely open the door enough to turn the light off. They were both asleep on the floor right beside the door. I decided to leave them there (does that make me a horrible mommy?). They woke up SCREAMING at 2am. I went in, rocked them a bit, put them both back into their own beds and left. This time, they cried for a couple of minutes. We woke again at 6am to screaming. Sean was still half asleep in the floor, but Owen was standing by the rocking chair, screaming. Brought them to bed with us and they slept until 8am.

Night 2: I will call a success!!

Even though I found them sleeping on the floor, they slept all night waking up at 7am, just half an hour to an hour earlier than normal! Hope this is a sign of things to come!

Oh that photograph will melt any heart - adorable! Holding onto the same blanky. Big boys, aren't they? I am totally planning to keep mine in their cots till at least high school.

I think they look so sweet laying there!!

Allison used to always sleep on the floor behind her door when she first figured out how to climb out of her crib...I never knew til morning so must have been comfy :)
We've found her sleeping in her closet before too, and I NEVER risk waking a sleeping baby so I just usually cover her up. She's wised up lately though, she stays in her crib until I open her door in the morning. Ryan not so much- he climbs out of his crib when he's ready to get up and knocks on the door from the inside or yells "maaaaaaaaaahhhh-meeeeee" lol
Then the only reason I go in to get him is so he doesn't wake up Allison whose in the next room over :)

Hoping tonight goes more smoothly!

The shots are beautiful and very clear catching the movement and the moment. The kids are growing like weeds! Taking apart the crib ...are the bys finally showing Dad how to use tools??
The secret to having a garage sale is don't let the kids see all the things they never played with.
Love always Poppy.

Awe! So now their big kids!!! Morgan climbs out of his crib every morning and after every nap. I've watched him and asked him to climb out for me just so I can watch him...he does it so gracefully I think I may keep him in his crib till college :-)
