The bike came through our town. They offered to let Chris sit on it, but he didn't. I think he was scared to scratch it or something.

Where's Jessica?

Wonder why there aren't many vacation pictures of Jessica?
Her face should have been in all of the following pictures..

Myrtle Beach ~Day 4

Tuesday. Our last full day at Myrtle Beach. We got up and headed for the sand and waves. Another morning on the beach. Everyone loved it. Except Jess of course. She and her friend made a "date" to meet at the waterslide. She did, however spend time with us on the beach.

A morning on the beach, a short nap and back to the pools for the afternoon

A little photo shoot with Jess on the patio.

Order pizza in the room for dinner and a night walk on the beach

It's all about TUESDAY!

An update

Tuesday had surgery to put in her central line, a bone marrow asperstion (removing bone marrow by a needle to analyze) and a biopsy (removal of part of the tumor to analyze it).

Tuedsay was scheduled to go in for a bone scan and ultrasound. Found out her lung was being squished by the tumor so instead needed to be put back under general and was transfered to PICU where she remained intibated. Fluid was found in her belly. They thought maybe the Tumor bleeding out from biopsy so they were talking about emergency surgery.

So over night they were filling her with fluids which she was retaing (kidneys weren't filtering fluid). 3rd spacing (fluid isnt in the cells or in the veins, it isn't able to be filtered out by the kidneys). Because of all the extra fluid, the tumor was getting push up higher into her lung so breathing was getting sketchy and her CO2 levels were dangerously high.

She is now totally stable, fluid has been passed thanks to a drug called Lasix. She looks so much better. Has not needed extra doses of morphine. Just her steady dose. She is on small amount of oxygen.

Tuesday was scheduled for her first round of Chemo this weekend.

Prayers are still needed. Also, remember the two ways that have been set up to help the family. One by donating money directly to the family (just click the 'donate' on the right of my blog. The other is by purchasing a T-shirt (button is also on the right of the blog)

Tuesday, please know that there are a lot of people praying for you. I know you can beat this!

That was so elementary!

Well, today was Jess' first of middle school. Although I do not have a picture of her (sorry, it just happened so early this morning I just was not thinking "get the camera out!").

However, after talking to her, it sounds like she had a pretty good day. Only two complaints...She doesn't like keyboarding because they use a board to cover the keys and she can't look at them (duh!!) and When we did the tour of the school on Saturday, we didn't locate the locker room for the gym, so she didn't know where to go.

All in all not a bad day!

Happy Birthday Chris

Saturday 7/26 was Chris' 18th birthday. Although to "the world" he is considered an adult, he will always be my baby boy, my first born, the one I had to grow up with! I love you Chris!

Chris, 3 weeks old

Chris, the day before his 18th birthday!

Myrtle Beach ~ Day 3

Monday morning we got up and hit the pools first thing. The resort was FULL of different pools. Most of them being indoors. Which worked really well for the boys and Delaney not getting sun burned. Not so great for mom and dad who would have liked to come home from vacation with at least a slight tan.
There was a "sunken submarine" that Delaney LOVED to play in. It took the boys a little while to warm up to the idea of water being squirt everywhere.
There was an awesome large chess/checkers pad that the kids loved to play with.

If you are wondering why there aren't any pictures of Jess it is because by this time she had met a friend and spent every minute possible with her. In fact, she wanted us to schedule our dinner schedule around said friend. We were glad she found someone her own age, but I hate that there aren't more pictures of her.

We also did the lazy river.

While I put the boys down for a nap, Scott and Delaney went to the store. When he got back...GUESS WHAT?!? I went to the pool with Delaney (Jess was already down with her friend)

Delaney and I did the lazy river and then...Delaney went down the slide by herself!!

For dinner, since we are all Buffett fans, we could not be in Myrtle Beach and not go to

It was worth the two hour wait!

After dinner, the girls rode a few rides at Broadway at the Beach.

So Far Behind

...and I don't like it. I have so many things to blog about, but just can't seem to find the time to do it. Coming up:

the rest of vacation
the museum
Hurricanes Fan Fun night
A day with Sammi
Pool Party
Chris' birthday.

Who knows how long this will take me!!

Congratulations

A BIG BIG congratulations to my friend Mike and Julie. They have been on a long journey to adopt a precious little boy from Ethiopia. They left last Saturday to pick him up and arrived home this past Saturday to bring their family together for the first time. I can not tell you how happy I am for my friends. I will post pictures as soon as I get permission from the family!!

Congratulations Mike and Julie (and family).

Reverisble Bird Seed Skirt GIVEAWAY!!!!

Reverisble Bird Seed Skirt GIVEAWAY!!!!

Myrtle Beach ~ Day 2

Sunday morning, we got up and hit the beach. How did the boys like it, you ask? Well, I can tell you it was the EXACT opposite of what I thought. Owen hates to get his hands dirty (as you may know he has a touch of a sensory disorder), so I thought FOR SURE it would not go over well with him. Sean usually rolls with the punches and takes what ever his handed to him, so I thought the beach would be the same. Here are a couple first impression pictures.

Owen

no, it is not a sun burned face/arms, it is his eczema acting up as soon as I put lotion on him.
Sean

funny how kids will ALWAYS make liars out of you

And of course Jess and Delaney are old pros by now.

Delaney played in the sand and in the water.

Jess grabbed her boogie board and headed for the hills waves.
Don't worry, BOTH the boys started to enjoy the sand and we had a nice day on the beach.

Delaney even wrote her name in the sand...

...while the boys tried to cover it up.

BTW, Delaney was NOT very pleased with this act.

After a morning on the beach, we went up to our room, had a quick lunch. I put the boys down for a nap while Scott and the girls went back down to the pools.

For dinner we headed down to Broadway at the Beach and had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and I had the king crab legs I have been craving since we booked our trip 2 months ago! YUMM~O!!

After we ate, we walked around just a bit and Delaney and Jessica wanted to take a "jump on the wild side."

Jess will not be very happy with me telling you this, but Delaney handled this MUCH better than Jess.

While I was putting the boys to bed, Scott took the girls.....You guessed it...down to the pools (are you seeing a trend here?)
